Today we started working on our sculpture project by creating digital montages. We began by talking about Surrealism and Surrealist artists like Magritte and De Chirico and the Mannerist painter Arcimboldo.

Digital montages are like collages, but instead of cutting up magazine images and gluing them and leaves, feathers, coloured paper, bus tickets and other objects onto a cardboard base, we used computers. In Photoshop Elements we 'cut up' images of everyday objects, then copied, pasted, rearranged, resized and rotated them. We experimented with our compositions and added backgrounds. The results were amazing! We each created our own surreal sea creatures. Have a look below!
